OR Smorgasborda creative gastronomy festival, returns for its fourth edition to São Paulo on July 20 and 21, around the Ibirapuera Obelisk. Admission is free, but tickets must be picked up in advance through the festival’s website.
This year there will be more than 300 gastronomic novelties. Among them, the Surf’N turf wagyu burger from Koburger, the dragon’s breath popcorn from N2, the vegan cashew ceviche from Cão Véio, the K-popó chicken sandwich from Nash, among others.
The event promises a sunset picnic atmosphere in the São Paulo winter, and in addition to tents selling food, Smorgasburg will also have a program of performances and, in addition, the debut of SmorgasWine, a wine bar curated by Patrícia Brentzel, and will bring natural and sustainable wines from small producers chosen especially for the event.
Already on the show’s program, emerging talents of jazz, soul, folk, reggae and indie, directly from the Smorgas Music Stage, with the special participation of singer and songwriter Clariana, who will present the tribute to Amy Reggaehouse, a celebration of the legacy of Amy Winehouse.
“There are more than 100 operations and around 300 gastronomic innovations, a stage that unites the divas of jazz and soul with the voices and instruments of the streets,” says Rogério Zé, director of Smorgasburg Brasil.
What is Smorgasburg?
Organized by Pipoca, a collective that develops projects with cultural impact for people, brands and cities, Smorgasburg debuted in Brazil in 2019 and has already taken place in cities such as New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Osaka, Saitama and Toronto.
The festival is part of the official calendar of the city and the Municipality of São Paulo and is supported by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism, as well as the Municipal Secretariat of the Subprefectures and the Subprefecture of Vila Mariana.
