Grandma’s recipe: Hot milk with sugar to avoid the cold
This recipe tastes like family to me. I met this bread at the home of my husband’s grandmother, grandmother Trude, who made and sent this bread to the whole family. Simply divine when it comes out of the oven, it is ultra soft, light, goes well with sweet and savory and has no mystery.
For the homemade bread recipe you will need:
Ingredients:
250 ml of warm water
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 and a half teaspoons of dry yeast
2 tablespoons of oil
1 teaspoon of salt
380 g of wheat flour
1 pan of 30 cm x 13 cm
Start by using a large bowl. Pour in the lukewarm water (if it is too hot it kills the yeast), add the yeast, sugar and oil. Mix well and start adding the wheat flour little by little. Add a pinch of salt and continue adding the flour. This dough is not like traditional ones, it is soft, sticky and does not form balls or other shapes, it is a nice loaf. This dough does not need to be kneaded for more than 10 minutes for the bread to be soft. It takes 5 minutes to beat the dough with your hands and it is smooth and very good. Let it brew until it grows a lot, rises well, then put in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
