It is consistency that helps you achieve your goals
Are you another person who has tried various ways to stay calm, failed, and then treated it like a lost cause? The solution may be practicing yoga! Find a corner that you find ideal and buy a mat for the first few sessions! Plus, science lately points to yoga practice for women and longevity.
The Benefits of Yoga for Women and Longevity
The Journal of the Menopause Society study examined the impact of mind-body exercise programs, such as yoga, during perimenopause and postmenopause, using 11 randomized, controlled trials with a total of 1,005 participants.
Many women face problems such as accelerated bone loss, which can lead to osteoporosis. The benefits of exercise are attributed to the stress induced in skeletal muscles, which regulate bone density.
Another point is that this research has stated that yoga can increase levels of melatonin, a hormone crucial for sleep, and levels of GABA in the brain, a neurotransmitter that improves sleep patterns.
The experience report
“The practice of Yoga has brought a significant improvement to the quality of my life, especially by expanding my self-knowledge and self-control. The classes are real experiences and provide learning that extends to life in its many aspects”, concluded Eliane Frossard, 73 years old.
Other Benefits of Yoga for Women
Ana Carolina Matos, a physical education professional at Total Pass, emphasized that there are different types of exercises to try to obtain the benefits that practicing regular sports can bring to well-being.
“Yoga is a practice that seeks to involve breathing, meditation and body control. There are different types of yoga, some more focused on relaxation and stretching and others on balance and strength,” explained Ana Carolina.
