Geraldo Alckmin helps a woman who is feeling unwell on a flight from Brasilia to Sao Paulo


The vice president has a degree in medicine from the University of Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo, and specializes in anesthesiology and acupuncture.




A doctor by training, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin assists a passenger on a flight from Brasilia to São Paulo, on the morning of Saturday 27. Alckmin traveled to the capital São Paulo to attend the PSB convention, his party confirmed the candidacy of federal deputy Tabata Amaral for the City of São Paulo.

In the middle of the flight, the flight attendant asked if there was a doctor on board and the vice president stepped forward to help a woman who was feeling ill. The information was revealed by Metrópoles and confirmed by State.

This is not the first time that Alckmin has helped someone in public since assuming the vice-presidency of the Republic. In March of last year, he helped a man who had suddenly taken ill during a federal government event in Manaus. On that occasion, he took his pulse and helped lift an employee of Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) who had suffered a drop in blood pressure.

Alckmin graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo, near his hometown of Pindamonhangaba. He specializes in anesthesiology and acupuncture.

In 2019, after being defeated in the previous year’s presidential elections, the former governor of São Paulo was part of host Ronnie Von’s program on TV Gazeta, where he appeared every fortnight to comment on health issues and give advice on natural eating and healthy practices.
