SAVOURY BLENDED CAKE (LOW CARB.) Ingredients:
– 1 unit of fresh cauliflower, pre-cooked
– 3 egg units, large
– 2/3 cup(s) almond milk
– 100 g of fresh lactose-free Minas cheese
– 2 teaspoons olive oil + a little for greasing
– 2 tablespoons golden flaxseed meal
– 1/2 teaspoon zahtar (or other of your choice)
– 1 teaspoon(s) of baking powder
– 1 clove(s) garlic, peeled and minced
PREPARATION:
- Separate all the utensils and ingredients needed for the blended savory pie (low carb).
- For 1 recipe – 4 servings, use a round baking pan 22 cm in diameter, 3 cm high (low pan) and grease it with olive oil.
- Peel and chop the garlic clove.
- In a large pot, boil enough water to pre-cook the cauliflower.
- Precook the cauliflower in boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain well and reserve.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
PREPARATION:
Low Carb Blender Pie – Pie Crust:
- In a blender, add the pre-cooked cauliflower, eggs, almond milk, lactose-free Minas cheese, golden flaxseeds, zahtar (or other seasoning of choice), baking powder, and/or minced garlic cloves.
- Beat all the ingredients until you get a smooth and well-mixed mixture.
Low Carb Blender Savory Pie – Assembly and Cooking:
- Transfer the dough into the previously greased pan.
- Place in a preheated oven and cook at 180°C for approximately 30 minutes, or until the cake is firm and golden.
- To check if the cake is well cooked, do the toothpick test: insert a toothpick into the center of the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
- When it reaches cooking point, turn off and remove from the oven.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
- Serve to blended savory pie (low carb) still hot, accompanied by a green salad or other side dish of your choice.
