Yogurt and honey cake

Time: 1h (+2h in the fridge)

Performance: 10 servings

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pot of natural yogurt (170g)
  • 1 cup of oil (tea).
  • 1 cup (tea) sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups (tea) wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon of yeast
  • Margarine and wheat flour for greasing

Syrup

  • 1 cup of milk (tea)
  • 2 cloves
  • 1/3 cup (tea) honey
  • 1 pot of natural yogurt (170g)

Preparation method:

  1. Blend the eggs, yogurt, oil, honey, sugar and flour in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add the yeast and mix with a spoon.
  3. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake tin and bake in a preheated medium oven for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool and unmold.
  4. For the syrup, in a saucepan, mix the milk, cinnamon, cloves and honey.
  5. Place on low heat and turn off as soon as it boils.
  6. Let it cool and remove the spices. Mix with the yogurt.
  7. Cut the cake into pieces and dip it in the syrup.
  8. Wrap each one in aluminum foil and refrigerate for 2 hours. If desired, serve sprinkled with ground cinnamon.
