Stay with the blocked nose It is one of the most annoying sensations there is. After all, anything that hinders breathing also compromises the quality of life. But unfortunately, nasal congestion is a common condition to encounter. In other words, it only takes a change in time for it to manifest itself.
So we asked for help from the ENT specialist, Dr. Ricardo Landini Lutaif Dolci, who is also a professor at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia in São Paulo. The specialist has collected some good tips to combat a stuffy nose. Watch it in the video below:
The specialist also says that the nasal mucosa has many blood capillaries, which heat the air entering the body. “This makes this region very reactive and generates an inflammatory process in response to any aggressive external agent. This explains the stuffy and irritated nose of people with allergies. Therefore, when diseases are of allergic origin such as asthma, rhinitis and sinusitis, nasal congestion is a very common symptom,” he explains.
“It’s very common for people to have a stuffy, runny nose when they have a cold. That’s because inflammation stimulates the production of mucus and excess fluid as a form of protection,” concludes Dr. Dolci.
