Check out bars that serve great Moscow Mules or versions of the drink approved by those who know more about the subject
The Moscow Mule and beer have more in common than you might think. In addition to being a refreshing beverage, the drink was reportedly first introduced to the public at the launch of a ginger beer at the Chatham Hotel in Manhattan, New York.
Another version of the story of the birth of the Moscow Mule says that one of the hotel bartenders wanted to empty his stock of vodka and ginger ale and so he invented the drink. Thus was born the drink based on vodka, lemon and ginger ale.
But what about the ginger foam? Few people know this, but it is 100% Brazilian in origin. In 2009, due to the limited availability of ginger ale in Brazil, bartender Marcelo Serrano enriched the drink with a foam made from the tuber.
For him, the perfect Moscow Mule should have a balance of flavors, with harmony between sweetness, acidity, texture, and alcohol. Oh, and it should always come in a copper mug, as it adds a touch of style to the look.
The original recipe is a success all over the world and, in Brazil, the version with ginger foam has gained fame. In addition to the original drink, many bars began to produce different types of drinks, with different liquors or other fruits, but always maintaining the freshness of the original.
