According to Mapa, the products do not comply with the rules and the responsible companies appear with the CNPJ downloaded by the Federal Revenue Service
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) has released a list of brands and lots of olive oil considered unfit for consumption. See the full list below.
In total, there are 11 brands: Málaga, Rio Negro, Quinta de Aveiro, Oviedo, Imperial, Ouro Negro, Carcavelos, Pérola Negra, La Ventosa, Cordilheira and Serrano. The last two had already been there banned by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) at the end of September.
According to the ministry, the products were analyzed by the Federal Agricultural Defense Laboratory and were disqualified because they did not comply with Regulatory Instruction No. 01/2012, which establishes the rules for the production of olive oil.
Additionally, the companies responsible for the products all have CNPJs registered with the Federal Revenue Service, which, for Mapa, reinforces signs of fraud.
Consumers who have purchased these products must stop consuming them and can request this Fala.BR channelindicating the factory and address where the product was purchased.
Suggestions
THE Olive oil is among the most fraudulent food products in the world. To avoid being deceived at the time of purchase, Mapa suggests some precautions:
- always be wary of lower than average prices;
- if possible, check that the the company is registered with the ministry;
- check the list of irregular products already seized in Mapa shares;
- do not buy olive oil in bulk;
- pay attention to the expiry date and the ingredients contained;
- Choose products with the most recent packaging date.
