An exclusive space for cat lovers […]
Crazy cat, this museum is for you.
Located in a building from 1667, the KattenKabine is an art museum that has a unique cat collection, with works such as drawings, paintings and sculptures.
After being restored in 1985, the building, located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, began hosting the museum in 1990, founded by Bob Meijer, in memory of his orange cat John Pierpont Morgan (1966-1983).
However, these are not just any works.
The authors of the works include names such as Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt and Toulouse-Lautrec, among others.
According to the museum catalogue, the collection also includes a mummified cat from 1500 BC and beautiful pieces from the turn of the last century, such as the sculpture by Dutch sculptor Chris van der Hoef, from 1928.
And the museum warns: cats live on site.
