Jaggery with cream

Time: 1h30 (+30min soaking)

Performance: 10 servings

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of sago
  • 1 and 1/2 liters of water
  • 3 cups sugar (tea)
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Cream

  • 2 egg yolks, sifted
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) sugar
  • 1 cup cream (tea).
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Preparation method:

  1. Leave the sago to soak in the water for 30 minutes.
  2. Bring to the boil and cook, stirring, until the balls become transparent.
  3. Add the wine, sugar, cinnamon and cook for another 15 minutes over low heat.
  4. Leave to cool, pour into bowls and place in the refrigerator.
  5. For the cream, heat the egg yolks, sugar, cream and vanilla.
  6. Add the cornstarch dissolved in the water and mix until it thickens.
  7. Transfer to a bowl, cover with cling film and leave to cool.
  8. Pour the cream onto the glasses and serve.
