Another source of inspiration is the reconstructed museum-estate of the eminent surgeon and public figure Gustav Winter. The most interesting guests were received there, gastronomic evenings and music salons were organized. The windows offer a view of the Ladoga reefs, transformed by stormy waters into a real work of art that has no analogues anywhere on the planet.

Even on a meditative vacation, there should be a driving principle that connects the traveler with the desire to move forward and be charged with adventure. The highlight of the route can therefore be called the Igora station and the Igora Drive circuit. The resort has hosted major sporting events and trained Olympic champions for 18 years. The circuit hosts the World Downhill Skating Championships, the Russian Circuit Racing Series, the Rallycross Cup and the Ultra Fondo cycle race.

In addition, the Terra Nordica Active Recreation Center is responsible for the movement – if there is a need (and, above all, courage) to become an explorer of the northern forests and awaken the spirit of a pioneer, you should make original tours on ATVs and snowmobiles in picturesque places are accessible as far as possible only with special equipment. There are no crowds of tourists, just kilotons of virgin energy to recharge.

You have probably heard about the amazing village of Mandrogi on the banks of the Svir River – this project of the Mantera Group collects many reviews from travelers. There is something to be surprised about here: eight authentic Russian huts from the 19th century were searched for in other forgotten settlements, dismantled log by log, transported here and reassembled. The old village has begun a second life, and what a second life!

Now there are comfortable hotels and guest houses, museums, craft workshops, the temple of the prophet Elisha, a ferry crossing and a river station with berths for ships and yachts. According to the discovered ancient drawings, a pillar mill with a millstone was built. Based on surviving written sources, Russian bathing traditions have been resurrected: book travelers can take steam with birch brooms, plunge into a real rejuvenating vat and taste herbal teas from a samovar equipped with dryers .

Also on the territory of the village there is a mini farm, a stable and a tavern, where homemade ravioli with venison or pike, Guryev stewed porridge, boyar pancakes with red caviar are served. and other traditional dishes of these places. You will be able to fully immerse yourself in the past: for demanding tourists, the village can be completely closed, so that the visitor feels like a real landowner and owner of these places. You can also purchase a temporary deed of purchase for the “Tavern” and only accept your own business there. During the autumn school holidays, specific educational outings are launched in the village.

On the eastern shore of the lake there are the Staraya Ladoga fortress, founded by Rurik, and the village of Kinerma, which has retained its original appearance for half a millennium. And on the west bank are the Korela fortress of the 14th-18th centuries, a cultural heritage site, and the legendary island of Valaam, the center of Russian spirituality. The grandeur of these places is literally in the air: history buffs are not the only ones who should visit the fortresses and their surroundings.
