These ways help you lose weight with healthy eating and hydration
Losing weight is undoubtedly the dream of many people. It is a process that requires patience, that is, it does not happen with a touch of magic and consistency dictates the pace of results. Many people use sport as a “tool” to lose a few pounds, a choice that still raises questions, for example: is there physical exercise to lose belly fat?
Exercise to lose belly fat is a widespread myth
“There is no exercise that leads to a localized loss of specific belly fat. So it is not selective in this sense, but at the same time any exercise performed associated with a correct diet will favor a reduction in body fat and, consequently, in the belly fat “, Dr. Leonardo Lima, professor of Human Anatomy at Eeferp-USP (Ribeirão Preto School of Physical Education and Sports of the University of São Paulo) responded exclusively to Sport Life.
Therefore, it is not possible to define the time it takes for a person to lose body fat as it must first be based on the person’s physical condition. Genetic factor and exercise strategy are also taken into consideration.
“Basically, within two to three weeks, some weight loss results will start to appear. Of course, this is proportional to how necessary this weight loss is. People who already have a lot of body fat (bigger belly) tend to identify these losses earlier While people who have little accumulated fat tend to take a little longer to identify this reduction,” said Dr. Leonardo.
Physical exercise for a sedentary person
If a sedentary person aims to lose fat mass, the ideal is for him to carry out an activity that takes him to the limit. Therefore, long-duration, low-intensity aerobic exercise is “linked” to weight loss.
“This does not mean, for example: that bodybuilding is not an exercise that can help you lose weight or even a team sport. The point is that weight training sessions normally have a slightly lower energy expenditure, but this can be compensated with weekly attendance or attendance,” the teacher explained.
If someone plays sports but still has an unwanted belly, what should they do?
“Probably, an athlete who still can’t have a smaller waist, who has a more prominent belly, perhaps will have to worry a little more about nutrition. The part of the exercise that will create a calorie deficit with energy expenditure is already ongoing. Maybe calorie consumption is too high or unbalanced,” Lima said.
Does aerobics before or after exercise accelerate belly loss?
“Ultimately, the process of losing weight involves expending more energy than you expend. Whether it’s strength training and aerobics after or aerobics first and strength training after, will be irrelevant. What really matters is the total sum of calorie expenditure during all exercises”, concluded Dr. Leonardo Lima.
