Reason or emotion: what is more important to succeed in life?

Many believe that to achieve a goal or dream it is necessary to use only logic and rationality. Or is emotion also important?

There is much controversy on the topic. After all, to win in life, to be successful in your profession or to achieve a goal or dream, you need to use only logic and rationality. Or is emotion also important?

Most people will surely answer that reason, logic and rationality are what lead us to win in life and be successful. And I still say that emotions get in the way. Some of this is true and some of it is false.

To win in life and be successful, you have to use your mental and rational side a lot to get where you want. The rational mind will “draw” what you want. Go plan how to get there. You will plan every step, challenge and how to solve possible problems. And he will execute the plan to the final goal. This is the real part I mentioned above.

The false part is that to motivate yourself on the path to success you have to use your emotions.

Explaining better: do you remember that the rational mind plans all the steps, paths, shortcuts and ways to achieve success? Without motivation, no one takes the first step or gives up at the first curve or the first obstacle.

In order for your goal, dream or goal to be successful, you must be motivated to achieve it. And motivation is nothing but putting your heart, love and passion into everything you want to do or achieve in your personal or professional life.

Our rational mind explains. The emotional mind leads. The rational mind executes. The emotional mind makes us feel fear or tension about a victory. Emotions make us feel more alive and human.

The word emotion can have different meanings. Emotions consist of species-specific patterns of physiological responses and behaviors. In humans, these responses are accompanied by feelings. It is believed that it is behavior and not individual response that impacts survival and reproduction.

To properly appreciate the importance of emotions, try to imagine life without them. There is no doubt that the expression of emotions represents a large part of what it means to be human. It should be noted that most stimuli that evoke emotional responses come from our senses.

Without emotions to motivate us, we will simply be a “rational machine” that will execute a routine or program until it reaches its goal or not. If you don’t achieve your goal, the rational side will only coldly analyze whether or not you should try again or move on to the next goal.

In other words, a 100% rational mind can throw away a great love, give up on creating a beautiful work or building a great company.

It is our emotions that make humans not give up easily. Who has never fought to the end for their great love? You may not even have conquered or regained your great love. But at least he tried.

Imagine if Bill Gates or Steve Jobs didn’t believe in their projects and plans? Imagine if they didn’t put love into their work and their companies? How much we would have lost or been technologically behind.

Look around you now. Every object, color, dress, painting or equipment has the rational mind that designed and executed it, but there is the emotional mind that gave it a different touch or special design.

Emotions make the world more interesting to live in. Emotion keeps you going.

Emotion motivates you to want more, to be more ambitious and happy.

Doubt? Remember the feeling of that promotion you wanted so badly? Or buy a car? Or the joy of taking a trip? Remember?

In addition to every victory, the feeling of victory is linked to the emotion that motivated you to achieve it. Never deny your emotions. Life thanks you for the emotion you feel.

To improve your mood and emotions, recite the prayer below for 21 days.

Prayer of self-love

“May I know how to find myself first, before giving myself. May I respect my limits and learn to say no when this is my true will and direction.

In the mistakes I make, may I look at myself with all love and compassion, because I know that I do and give my best, may I appreciate self-gratitude.

In every joy I celebrate the greatness of being who I am, without wanting to be an image that has been painted of me, that time is over. With affection I take care of myself and support me at every step, at every fall.

I know that my strength is restored in my time, and in it my heart celebrates. May I not criticize or blame myself, thus draining my energy.

May I know how to respect my time to flourish in every pain, may I also allow myself joy.

That before I take care of others, I look at my life, water my garden so that the donation doesn’t leave a hole in me and I feel sore afterwards.

May I not abandon myself, hoping that someone will come to save me, who instead knows how to look at me with love and heal me. Amen.”
