Many people are skeptical of the claims, and we understand them: it’s strange to talk to yourself, and even repeat that you are great and can do anything. However, research shows that positive statements work: for example, one study found that they activate the brain’s ventromedial prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for everything from self-control to self-esteem.
It’s “something scientific”: to put it simply, affirmations really help us take action and look at ourselves and the world around us with greater inspiration. Therefore, it makes sense to start the morning with positive phrases, especially since it does not require any effort – you can say one to yourself while brushing your teeth, washing your face or waiting for the kettle to boil .
