In total, 550 chefs were awarded in three categories at the Best Chef Awards
The eighth edition of The Best Chef Awards has published the list of the best chefs in the world and 17 Brazilians appear on the list. The event took place last Wednesday, the 6th, in a ceremony in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and the scoring was done with a knife seal instead of stars. In total, 97 chefs won 3 knives, 177 won 2 knives and 276 kept one.
Brazil won the maximum seal of three knives for two chefs: Manu Buffara, of Manu, in Curitiba; and Alex Atala, in front of DOM and Dalva and Dito, in Sao Paulo. Seven Brazilians won two knives, indicating world-class chefs: Fabrício Lemos and Lisiane Arouca, of the Origem restaurant, in Salvador; Ivan Ralston, chef at Tuju, in Sao Paulo; Jefferson Rueda, of A Casa do Porco, in Sao Paulo; Rafa Costa e Silva, from Lasai, in Rio; Janaína Torres, from the Dona Onça restaurant, in São Paulo; and Alberto Landgraf, from Oteque, Rio.
Eight Brazilian chefs received a knife, dedicated to professionals with “excellent skills”: Helena Rizzo, from Maní, in Sao Paulo; Dante and Kafe Bassi, from Manga Restaurante, in Salvador; Felipe Bronze, from Oro, in Rio, and Pipo, in Sao Paulo; Kazuo Harada, manager of Kazuo Restaurante, in Sao Paulo; Gerônimo Athuel, from Ocyá, in Rio; Tássia Magalhães, from Nelita, in São Paulo; and Luiz Filipe Souza, from Evvai, in Sao Paulo.
