The Prime Minister arrived in Brazil to participate in the G20, but took advantage of Sunday to visit the capital Rio de Janeiro

As well as watching a beach football match up close, the prime minister helped prepare cod cakes and went for a swim on Copacabana Beach. Jonas arrived in Brazil this weekend, along with his entourage, to participate in the G20.

As part of his tour of the capital Rio, Jonas chose to try the cod fritters at Armazém São Joaquim, in the neighborhood of Saint Teresafamous bohemian stronghold in Rio Secondo The globein addition to tasting the dumplings, he also took part in preparing the snack at the restaurant.
“We are here to celebrate the long tradition we have with cod and we thank the Norwegian Fisheries Consulate for this tradition. The relationship between the two countries [Brasil e Noruega] It’s been a long time since 1842. Unfortunately we can’t interview cod,” he joked.
“The relationship between Norway and Brazil involves more than 340 companies working in various sectors, solar energy, oil, but none exceeds cod,” he added. When asked what his favorite place so far in the capital of Rio was, he said it was the Copacabana Beach.
“It’s an important place for the world. I really liked it because in Norway we don’t have this contact with the sea, where the buildings overlook the beach, so I thought it was very beautiful. Here too, Santa Teresa, is quite charming. I went up by cable car, I saw the mountains, but I’m already used to this type of transport,” he underlined.
Previously, the prime minister shared a video on his Instagram stories as he entered the Copacabana Sea. He also attended a football match on the beach, promoted by the Norwegian NGO Karanbawhich has been operating in Brazil since 2006.
The project was brought to Brazil by Norwegian player Tommy Nilsen, to support children and young people in vulnerable situations. “The most important thing happening today in Rio de Janeiro is football on the beach. The project is much more. Football is a tool to support children from the most needy regions of Rio,” the prime minister wrote on Instagram.
