Passionata is produced in Paraná and was among the finalists at the 2024 World Cheese Awards
Passionata Brazilian cheese, produced in Paraná, was among the finalists at the World Cheese Awards 2024, the main dairy event in the world, considered the largest award in the area.
Matured with passion fruit infusion, it is made with fruit seeds in the peel, which guarantee a special flavor. It is produced in the educational laboratory of the Bioparco, in Toledo, in the hinterland of the state, by one of the producers in the region participating in the free project and the Flor da Terra dairy is responsible for its production and sale.
The cheese ranked 9th in the ranking that brings together the 14 finalists of the competition. Passionata was also voted the best cheese in Latin America.
In total, the 2024 World Cheese Awards evaluated 4,786 cheeses from 47 countries during the event which took place in Viseu, Portugal, and the results were released on the 15th.
The Brazilian representative of the top 10 will be sold to Queijaria Flor da Terra from next year.
In this edition, Amanteigado sheep’s cheese, from Portugal, was voted the best cheese in the world.
