Couple captured having sex atop an elephant sculpture

The case occurred in Miami, United States; Security intervened after hearing “strange noises”

A couple was caught having intimate sex on top of an elephant sculpture on a beach in Miami Beach, United States. The life-size representation of a herd of animals is one of the outdoor installations of Art Basel, a traditional contemporary art event that takes place from 6 to 8 December.

The unusual sighting was made by a security guard present at the fair who heard “strange noises”, as a source told the portal. Page six. It is so far unknown how the two people got onto the sculpture.

Although they were caught, the couple was not arrested. The security guard who found them simply asked them to leave.

The work ‘Great Migration of Elephants’ is composed of representations of Indian elephants of different sizes, with the aim of conveying ‘peaceful coexistence’. It was not even known on which variant of the animal the act occurred.

This, however, is not the first case of invasion of the place which is preparing for the exhibition of the renowned artistic event. Sources revealed to the portal that recently a rapper – whose name was not disclosed – was caught trying to record a music video among elephants in the early hours of the morning.

After the latest events, security was increased during the “Great Elephant Migration” in Miami Beach.

Poised to be one of the highlights of Art Basel, the work was last exhibited in New York’s Meatpackinge neighborhood in September this year. The statues are produced by around 200 artisans in southern India, from a herb called Lantana camara.

The “Great Elephant Migration” pieces are on sale for $28,000 (R$169,000), with proceeds going to artists and wildlife NGOs.
