After the holiday period, many experience discomforts such as bloating, drowsiness, headaches and gastric disorders. Fluid retention is a common problem that occurs quickly after a day or two of overeating, much more so than fat accumulation.

The nutritionist Renata Branco explains that it is possible to alleviate these symptoms with some strategic food choices. “After the typical excesses of the holidays, it is essential to help the body recover. A light detox, made with natural ingredients, can be a great way to relieve swelling and regain energy,” he explains.

A practical and simple tip is the homemade detox recipe, which can be prepared at home. Check the ingredients:

Refreshing detox: ingredients

  • 5 leaves of ora pro nobis or organic kale
  • 1/2 apple
  • 1 squeezed lemon
  • 1 heaped tablespoon of celery
  • 2 coconut water ice cubes
  • 1 level dessert spoon of chia seeds
  • 1 level teaspoon of ginger
  • 150 ml of water

Blend all the ingredients in a blender and consume immediately.

“In addition to being a refreshing option, this recipe helps to detoxify and hydrate the body, combating fluid retention and post-party discomfort”, concludes Renata.
