The re-elected mayor of Belo Horizonte (MG), Fuad Noman (PSD), was discharged from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where he was hospitalized, at the Mater Dei Hospital, in the capital of Minas Gerais, this Sunday, 22. The medical team declared that none had clinical improvement and all vital data were present back to normal. Now, doctors say, the mayor continues to recover in a hospital room and is expected to be discharged in the next few days.

Noman has been hospitalized since last Thursday, the 19th, recovering from diarrhea and intestinal bleeding. The new hospitalization occurred four days after leaving the same department, where he had spent five days treating bronchitis and sinusitis, being discharged last Sunday. On Wednesday 18th, due to health problems, the general director of Belo Horizonte missed the graduation ceremony.

“I couldn’t be present at yesterday’s ceremony, as I would have liked, but I continue to work and recover well to be able to start 2025 with a lot of energy and desire. Let’s move forward!”, wrote the mayor on his Instagram profile last Thursday, with the photo of the diploma which guarantees that you will be able to take up the position in January.

The re-elected mayor was also hospitalized in November, with leg pain caused by treatment for a cancer of the lymphatic system, known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The illness was announced in July and, in October, Fuad declared that the treatment was complete and that he had recovered.
