3 phrases your parents used to deceive you when you were a child

In your youth, you probably heard at least one of these phrases. Turns out they were just tricks.

To force us to do something (or, on the contrary, not to do it), our parents resorted to various instructive and intimidating phrases. In fact, these three myths are absolute!

1. “If you break your fingers, you’ll damage your joints.”

Research has shown that finger cracking does not harm your joints or grip strength.

2. “If you walk around with your stomach bare, you will get a bladder infection.”

Actually, it’s a half-truth. Cooling reduces blood flow to the bladder, making it more vulnerable to infection. But this does not cause inflammation in itself: inflammation is caused by bacteria and fungi.

3. “You can’t drink water after cherries”

Apparently it would cause stomach upset. In fact, there is no scientific evidence of such an effect unless you suffer from fructose intolerance and have eaten no more than half a kilo at a time.
