He began his professional career as an athlete, meeting his partner at the 1948 London Olympics. There, too, he began to try his hand at fashion, making coats for teammates on the competing Italian team.

Personal life

She married in Lombardy, Italy, in 1953, and expanded the business into a brand, with the help of the fashion journalist Diana Vreeland which, directly from the United States, introduced the famous model to the world.

Until 2018 the Missoni family owned 100% of the brand, but sold 41.28% to a fund. Since then, the daughter Angela took over as president of the brand, with Rosita spending her final years as creative director, then relinquishing the title.
