This recipe is wonderful for serving the table when it comes to abundance. Potatoes and bechamel are simply the perfect match, even more so when it’s all au gratin and full of flavor. For the Portuguese potato you will need:
- 5 peeled boiled potatoes, cut into thick slices
- 1 liter of béchamel of your choice
- 1 cup of chopped ham
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup of sliced black olives
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, cut into rings
Performance: 6 servings
Step by step
In a refractory, put the béchamel on the bottom and arrange the potato slices, add part of the ham, the olives and the cheese, cover with more sauce and repeat the layer. Put the béchamel, the eggs and sprinkle the cheese. Place in a preheated oven until golden brown. This dish goes very well with white rice and garlic broccoli.
