Crumble, the crunchy and dry sweet crumble, easy to make


An easy to prepare sweet farofa, used in cooking, but which can be used for many other desserts. See how to do it

cup = 240 ml, spoon = 15 ml, teaspoon = 10 ml, teaspoon = 5 ml

Ingredients CRUMBLE (STREUSEL) – CRUNKY SWEET FAROFA

– 110 g of cold unsalted butter, plus a little more for greasing.

– 1 cup(s) demerara sugar (or sugar)

– 2 cups of wheat flour

– salt to taste (pinch).

– nutmeg to taste, grated. (optional)

– 2 teaspoons of chemical yeast

– 2 tablespoon(s) vanilla essence (or almond essence)

– 2 units of eggs, just the yolk(s), to finish.

Ingredients TO ACCOMPANY

– ice cream to taste (optional)

– apple to taste, roasted (optional)

– banana to taste, roasted

PREPARATION:

  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

PREPARATION:

Crumble, FAROFA (sweet):

  1. Cut the cold butter into cubes.
  2. In a bowl, place the other STREUSEL ingredients (demerara sugar, flour, chemical yeast, vanilla or almond essence, salt, nutmeg (optional)) except the egg yolks.
  3. Mix well with your hands, breaking up the butter so that it blends into the whole mixture.
  4. Add the egg yolks, continue mixing with your fingertips until a moist and crumbly crumb forms.
  5. To serve as a crumble, grease a mold and flour it, roll it out well and cook it in a preheated oven.
  6. With the same preparation the “Crumble Pie” is made, in which the fruits are placed in a mold and the crumble is placed on top. You can do this with various fruits!

CRUMBLE, the sweet crumble, to cook:

  1. Bake at 180°C for 40 minutes or until the farofa is golden and crispy. You can even poke it and hear the little noise, it’s so crunchy.
  2. Leave to cool to room temperature.
  3. Break into smaller pieces, making crumbs – the size of the pieces can vary depending on the preparation – if you want it more delicate, break into smaller pieces.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Store at room temperature, covered in an airtight container, if used as FAROFA.
  2. Serve with ice cream, toasted fruit and other desserts of your choice.
