Oscar celebrates his debut with Sao Paulo in a draw against Cruzeiro

Confrontation is valid for the FC Series friendly tournament in the United States

Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro drew 1 to 1 this Wednesday (15th), at the Inter&Co Stadium, in Orlando, in a match valid for the pre-season friendly tournament of the FC Series. Despite the result, Oscar celebrated his participation in the second half and, of course, his return to the Sao Paulo club.

Matheus Pereira opened the scoring early in the match, while Luciano left everything the same in the 45th minute, after Ferreira’s shot led to the striker’s goal.

Oscar started from the bench. In the second half, Zubeldía replaced the midfielder with Lucas Moura. In an interview with the Sportv channel, the Italian reinforcement did not hide the satisfaction of wearing the team’s mantle for the second time in his career.

– I am happy. Happy to have debuted, happy to make some plays. It’s just the beginning, it’s the first friendly of the season, also to get to know our players better. Happy with my debut.

The star was also asked about the team’s performance against Cruzeiro. He praised the coach’s work and praised his colleagues.

– It was a mix of what we had trained during the week. Physically our team is fine, but Cruzeiro is a team that keeps the ball a lot. But our team reacted very well, we lost at the start, we created a lot of plays. It’s great for the start of the season.

Finally, Oscar thanked the fans for their support throughout the match.

– I was happy. The affection of the fans since the match started here is truly special, I hope to continue like this. It was very special to make my debut with San Paolo. I was a little anxious about returning to the field. In the second half I was able to help the team and create. We almost got the win, but it’s excellent.

Oscar was announced as the new reinforcement of the Tricolor in December 2024. Revealed by Sao Paulo, the athlete spent time at Internacional, Chelsea and the Port of Shanghai.

Meanwhile, the debut at the Paulistão has been postponed to Monday 20 January, in the duel valid for the second round against Botafogo-SP, at 8pm (Brasilia time), at the Estádio Santa Cruz, in Ribeirão Preto.
