With the aim of expanding the visibility of Religious spaces of African origin and evaluates its traditions, the government of San Paolo announced the creation of Tourist guide to the religions of the African matrix. The initiative, developed in collaboration between the secretariats of tourism and travel (sett-SP) and Justice and Citizenship (SJC), was presented on Tuesday 18, in the auditorium of the Palazzo di Campos Elíseos, bringing together religious representatives and sector experts tourist.

The project provides for the mapping of temples and spaces linked to traditions such as Candomblé, Umbanda, Culture and Adoration òrunmìlá Ifá, sacred jurious and shamanism, as well as its regional variations. The initiative will be supervised by the interreligious forum for a culture of peace and freedom of conviction and aims to consolidate information to facilitate the structuring of tourist itineraries, encourage investments in the sector and expand the recognition of these religious events.

“The tourism of San Paolo is focused on the development of promotional content on the religious attractions of the African matrix in various destinations of the state, creating new screenplays and products that can be marketed by agencies and tour operators”, said Roberto De Luena, secretary of tourism And tourism travel. For the secretary of justice and citizenship, Fábio Prieto, the creation of the guide represents progress in promoting cultural and religious tourism, as well as contributing to respect and inclusion. “The initiative reiterates the commitment of the government of San Paolo towards religious diversity and the enhancement of Afro-Brazilian cultural manifestations, contributing to inclusive, plural and sustainable tourism,” he said.

The Secretary General of the Interreligious Forum, Vânia Soares, has strengthened the importance of the project in the fight against prejudice. “These religions have suffered long stigmatization. This is an important step to break these stigmas, ensuring that these places are recognized and respected for their spiritual, cultural and social importance, “he said.

To integrate the tour guide, religious spaces will have to satisfy some criteria, such as having infrastructures to receive visitors, maintain digital presence (website or social networks), have a person responsible for the service and offer a structured presentation on the site. The survey will be made with the support of the members of the interreligious forum, distributed by various cities of the state.
