Many people believe that stroke is a problem that can only influence the elderly, but this idea must be demystified. Although age is a risk factor, the disease can affect anyone, including young people, children and even children. Stroke (stroke) is one of the main causes of death in Brazil. The most important thing is to recognize the signs and act quickly,” he explains.

How to identify?

To facilitate the identification of symptoms, there is a simple method based on the acronym Samu:

  • Smile: ask the person to smile. If one side of the face is crooked or paralyzed, it can be a blow.
  • Hug: ask to lift both arms. If one of them falls or does not respond, it is a warning sign.
  • Music: ask the person to repeat a musical phrase. If there is difficulty or speech it is tangled, it is more indicative.
  • Urgent: if there are one or more of these signs, call it immediately to 192. Every second account, because time is brain.

According to Dr. Espíndola Ala, reciting quickly is essential. “The cure in the early hours can drastically reduce sequel possibilities and increase the patient recovery rate,” he says.
