To celebrate the arrival of spring in India, the colors will also have its Brazilian version, this weekend, in San Paolo.
Saturday (22/3) and Sunday (23/3), Largo da Batata, in Pinheiros, will host the Holi Festival, one of the most emblematic events of Indian culture and other countries, such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan.
The event is known for the colorful launch of post -Colore that paints the participants’ clothes, with reference to life, union and diversity.
Color party
The story of the festival dates back to an ancient history of Hindu mythology, which not only celebrates the arrival of spring, but also the victory of good on evil.
In India, the event is held between the end of February and the first half of March and is based on the legend of King Hiranyakashyap, who wanted to be worshiped as the only God in his kingdom.
But his son Prahlad, a fervent devotee of Vishnu, challenged his father’s authority. Infuriated, the king developed a cruel plan, asking for the help of his sister Holika, who had a magical cloak that made her immune to the fire.
His plan was that Holika entered the flames that Prahlada kept in his arms, but when he entered the fire, Holika lost his divine protection and was consumed by the fire, while Prahlad emerged unharmed, saved from the strength of his faith.
Therefore, this event symbolizes the victory of devotion and goodness for the forces of evil, becoming the essence of Holi, a color festival and celebration of life.

According to the director of the Holi Festival, the Cola Em Sampa platform, the colors of the event are Rossi, which represent love and passion, yellow (happiness and energy), green (renewal and restart), blue (calm and serenity) and orange (creativity and enthusiasm).
“Holi Festival plays a key role for immigrant communities, helping to break the stereotypes and bring cultures closer through joy and traditions,” says Willian Vendramini, co -e -founder of Sampa, in a note sent to Trip to the agenda.
In San Paolo, the celebration with the 250 kg of colored post, in a special partnership with the official sponsor of the event, ACLERX, will take place four times a day, at 13h, 15h, 17h and 18h.
Another salient moment of the event will be the area of gastronomy with various kitchen stands and Indian dishes, such as Samosa (Indian pastel with chicken filling), chicken in curry sauce and marinated chicken with yogurt and cooked in a cylindrical clay pan, among the other candies and drinks from India.
