Know the story
All the faces of our lady refer to an apparition of Mary somewhere in the world. In the case of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, it is a record on Mount Carmelo, which is located in the city of Haifa, in Israel. According to Catholic traditions, the prophet Elia saw an image similar to the Virgin Mary next to a cloud. This cloud would have closed a long period of drought in that region.
However, since this vision of the prophet is before the New Testament and, therefore, at the birth of Christ, the religious order of the Carmelites interpreted Elia’s vision as a prefiguration that Jesus would be born and that his mother would have been a young woman with a pure heart, revered by Catholics.
It was the Portuguese who brought the cult of Our Lady of Carmo to Brazil in the 16th century. The feast of the saint always occurs on July 16. Learn now to pray the third!
First step
Keep the cross of the third in your hands and report the cross: “With the sign of the Holy Cross, Libeaci, God, Our Lord, our enemies. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.”
Second step
Keep the wider report, right on the cross, and pray one of our father and a hail Maria. Press the three smaller accounts, then praying three Marys hail. Keep the central and great report of the third and pray again a our father and a hailstorm.
Third step
Tell the first related prayer kept ten times. After finding the wider report, which divides the first of the second dozen, the prayer again and a bird in a row, then reciting the prayer of the second dozen ten times. Proceed successfully, in succession, until you go throughout the third.
1st dozen: “Our Lady of Carmo, a lawyer for sinners, pray for us. They can the highest mother’s arms can protect us in the dark hours and drive away our enemies.”
2nd dozen: “Lady of Carmo, its consolation relieves our afflictions. Our intention is to spread devotion to the Virgin Mary so that all the faithful can rejoice in being called their children.”
3rd dozen: “Dear Mother, who illuminates our way and frees us from the dangers, we praise his holiness! At his feet, we get to strengthen our spirits in the face of the setbacks.”
4th dozen: “Queen sovereign, pray that we can receive, with its intercession, material food and spiritual nutrients. Teach us to propagate that Jesus is the way, the truth and life!”
5th dozen: “Holy Mary, grant this grace to this humble servant if worthy is (a).
