The nutritionist explains how a balanced diet affects the body over 28 days. Changes in the body are noticeable after 7 days

Maintaining a balanced diet and adopting other healthy habits can take a lot of effort and, as a result, get discouraged. However, realizing the differences this new routine brings to our body and well-being is a great way to find the motivation to keep going.
It is important to note that a balanced diet is far from a restrictive diet. “On the weight loss journey, a healthy and balanced diet is one in which you can eat whatever you like and reach your goals. By having a balanced diet, in which we include all food groups without major restrictions, we are able to provide the body with all the nutrients it needs to be healthy, “says Matheus Motta, nutritionist in charge of the VigilantesdoPeso program in Brazil.
Matheus reveals the main differences we can notice in our body when we start a healthier and more balanced diet:
1st day
On the first day, you may notice an improvement in concentration, as pointed out by the practitioner. “Ingesting smaller amounts of sugar, for example, lowers blood glucose spikes, which generate more energy and focus,” he explains.
7th day
After 7 days, the body begins to get used to the changes, getting into a routine and reducing the desire for snacks and snacks. At this point, it’s easier to stick with healthy choices. The nutritionist adds that, by checking the amount of salt consumed that week, it is possible to notice a deflating and loosening of the clothes, thanks to the retention of less liquids.
14th day
After two weeks, it is normal to feel less stressed. “At this stage, when you eat healthier, your blood sugar is more stabilized, which improves your mood. This also affects the control of cravings and eating compulsions,” says Matheus.
21st day
After 21 days, you can already feel a difference in the skin. “Adopting a balanced diet consumes the nutrients necessary for collagen formation and the reduction of inflammation, such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and healthy fats, improving sleep,” explains the nutritionist.
Cutting down on salt and alcoholic beverages in the diet helps keep the body more hydrated, causing differences in the functioning of the skin and organs. Additionally, frequent fiber intake helps regulate the intestines, while also reducing swelling and discomfort in the abdomen area.
28th day
By 28 days, your immune system is stronger, and as your sleep improves, you get sick less often. Not to mention the reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. “Thanks to the consumption of less refined sugars and saturated fats, the difference is also noticeable on the scale and, by combining physical activity with the process, it becomes even greater”, comments Matheus.
The expert points out that noting the large amount of benefits gained is a great incentive to continue avoiding processed products and fast food. “It is important to stop to notice and celebrate the changes achieved, this helps to make the pursuit of well-being easier and more enjoyable”, he concludes.
