It is the indication of the Ministry of Health, published in a technical note, on the disease caused by the Monkeypox virus. See the other tips
At the beginning of the week, the The Ministry of Health has published a technical note with guidelines for pregnant, lactating and postpartum women in relation to monkeypox (also known as monkeypox). According to the document, people who are part of these groups must continue to wear masksespecially in places where there may be individuals infected with the virus.

The contagion, it is worth remembering, occurs through the direct contact with body fluids and skin lesions of infected people, as well as face-to-face respiratory secretions and contact with contaminated objects.
The other recommendations in the folder are:
- Stay away from people who have suspicious symptoms, such as fever and skin and mucosal lesions.
- Use condoms in all types of sexual intercourse (oral, vaginal, anal), as transmission by intimate contact was the most frequent;
- Pay attention to see if your sexual partner has lesions in the genital area and, if any, has no contact;
- Seek medical attention if you have suspicious symptoms.
According to the technical note, considering the information available so far on the subject, “There is still no specific treatment protocol with antivirals in the pregnancy-puerperal cycle”. Despite this, the material has provided guidance for healthcare professionals on caring for pregnant women. If the pregnant woman is asymptomatic and the test is negative, monitoring is suspended. When the result is positive, home isolation is indicated for 21 days, without visits, and with self-monitoring (control of temperature and the appearance of skin lesions).
If the pregnant woman has symptoms of monkeypox, there are two options: with a negative test, home isolation is recommended for 21 days, without visits and with self-monitoring. With a positive test, hospitalization is indicated in moderate, severe and critical cases. Monitoring of fetal viability should be careful in patients with the disease in the three stages mentioned above. The route and time of delivery follow the obstetric indication and, for women who are breastfeeding, the continuation of breastfeeding must be analyzed individually.

At the end of July the The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the current zoonosis epidemic a public health emergency of international concern. – that is, an event in which there is a risk of global spread and which requires a coordinated response from the States.
“The control of monkeypox is a priority for the Ministry of Health, which constantly monitors the epidemiological situation to guide the surveillance and response to the disease in Brazil. La Pasta continues negotiations with PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) and WHO for the acquisition of the vaccine against the disease and antiviral drugs for the treatment of monkeypox.“, says the note.
