The federal government has removed over $ 1 million in commercial alcohol ads irregularly, in particular of the luxury whiskey imported without authorization. The action took place on Wednesday, the sixteenth, as part of the agro Ciber II Ronda operation, coordinated by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), through the National Council to fight piracy (CNCP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Master (Mapa).

According to the authorities, the advertisements of over 70 distilled brands have been identified on digital platforms without importing authorization, configuring health infringements, tax evasion and possible crimes against the consumer and against intellectual property.
Health and counterfeiting risks
The Department of inspection of the MAPA plant products (DIPOV) warned that the absence of import authorization prevents health control and trail of drinks, making the products clandestine and improper for consumption.
Without a correct supervision, these distillate may not be subjected to mandatory tests, such as the measurement of alcohol and the verification of the presence of toxic substances, such as methanol, a compound that can cause intoxication, blindness and even death.
The investigations have also revealed evidence of criminal falsification, with the presence of low quality or even industrial alcohol beverages disguised as a whiskey premium, which further increases health risks.
According to MJSP, the ads taken from the air used the deficiency technique to attract consumers, claiming exclusive products. However, illegal marketing was hidden, without guarantees of quality, origin or compliance with Brazilian laws.
Now, the authorities work to identify those responsible for the accounts who have published illegal announcements, in order to retain them administratively and criminally.
