The serial tragedies guide luxury hotels in Ibiza to cancel the events after the fourth death in three months

Last Monday 21, a young young Scottish man died falling from a balcony to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel; Other cases light warning

A very frequent luxury hotel in Ibiza, Spain, decided to temporarily suspend the events that took place in their clubs after a sequence of deaths that shocked the guests and relatives of the victims. The measure was announced this week after the death of the young Scottish ice hockey player Gary Kelly, at just 19 years old, occurred at dawn on Monday 21.

According to the BBC, Gary fell from the portico of the third floor of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and died on the scene. The case was treated as an apparently accidental death. It is the fourth fatal victim recorded in the hotel in less than three months.

Given the new tragedy, the administration of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel informed the cancellation of planned tourist events, such as pool parties and musical performances, which are traditional in space. “The priority is to support the blows and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult moment and fully help the authorities in their investigations. The safety and well -being of our guests are, and it will always be our maximum priority,” said the hotel in an official declaration. The number of events canceled has not been disclosed.

Recent deaths have a warning on the hotel security conditions, which is internationally fame to attract young tourists looking for the lively nightlife of the island. The sequence of fatal episodes began at the end of April.

On July 7, the Scottish Evan Thomson, 26, died after falling from the balcony of the sixth floor while celebrating his birthday with friends. The case generated indignation in the family, who criticized the hotel posture in front of the tragedy. According to relatives, festive activities resumed less than an hour and a half after death, with publications on social networks that promote a pool party.

“Ibiza is known on their parts and scrutinizes me that they have no more rigid safety precautions. They pray that no one else suffers. Please no other family crosses him,” said Evan’s sister on the British website Daily Star.

Still in the same hotel, between 26 and 30 April, two other deaths occurred. On 30, a 33 -year -old British tourist underwent cardiac arrest and died before arrival. Four days earlier, a 19 -year -old Italian girl fell from her fourth floor while trying to access her room on the portico, as she was without the entrance card.

Although the authorities have not identified the proof of the crime in cases, the accumulation of fatal episodes has generated concern. Other registers of the death of the hotel include that of the 23 -year -old British Amy Connor, who was found dead in one of the beds in 2020, and that of Michael Robertson, also British and the same age, who in 2008 passed out after the use of ecstasy and was unable to resist.
