British research reveals that the health crisis also had brain effects even among the non -infected
Covid-19 pandemic may have left the votes in the brain of those who have never had the disease. This is what a research did from the University of Nottingham, in the United Kingdom, which compared the tests of images of almost 1,000 people, made before and after the start of the health crisis.

According to the study published in Journal Nature CommunicationsTheir brain would have aged 5.5 months on average, even among those who were not infected by the virus. The impact was greater in men, the elderly and individuals of more vulnerable social contexts.
The researchers do not yet know if this brain aging is reversible, but warn: the effects are strongly linked to social inequality, which worsened during the pandemic.
Cold: I have influence, cold or Covid-19?
“It is not yet clear whether these effects of cerebral aging can be at least partially reversible, but a strong connection with deprivation further underlines the urgent need for policies that face socio -economic and health inequalities, since the pandemic has exacerbated pre -existing disparities”, says the study.
Despite the aging identified, the research shows that only the participants who had Covidio had worsened in cognitive performance tests such as mental flexibility and speed in reasoning.
