For greater health it is important to give priority to natural and fresh foods
It is known that ultra elaborate foods have many additives – such as dyes, aromas and preservatives – among their ingredients, which makes them less healthy.
In general, they contain significant quantities of sugar, fat and sodium and are often poor in essential nutrients.
Vanessa Giglio, clinical and nourishing nutritionist, listed the worst ultra -elaborate foods. I am:
- Soda
- Package snacks
- Padded biscuits
- Sausagi – Like sausages and salami, ham
- Transformed meats – such as frozen pepper and hamburgers
- Sugary morning cereals
- READED FREE FRIENDS
- Ready spaces.
“The ideal is to avoid or reduce the consumption of the ultra elaborate ones, since they are usually rich in sugars, saturated fats, sodium and artificial additives and poor in essential nutrients”, suggests the expert.
Moderation in this case means consuming these foods in a very small and sporadically. “Give the priority always to fresh and natural foods. There is no safe amount established, but the less, the better”, adds the nutritionist.
According to the data and recommendations of agencies such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the food guide to the Brazilian population, among the risks of exaggerated consumption of ultra -elaborate foods are:
1. Increase in the risk of obesity and overweight
Ultra elaborate foods are generally rich in calories, added sugars, unhealthy fats and salt, as well as bad fibers. This contributes directly to the increase in weight and the accumulation of body fat.
2. More possibility of developing cardiovascular diseases
Excessive sodium, saturated fats and trans fats present in these products increase blood pressure levels and bad cholesterol (LDL), increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke and heart failure.
3. Development of type 2 diabetes
Rich diets in ultra -elaborate products such as soft drinks, biscuits and frozen foods are associated with an increase in insulin resistance and risk of diabetes at risk.
4. Increase in cancer risk
Studies indicate the association between frequent ultra -elaborate consumption and an increased risk of some tumors, such as intestine, stomach and breast, probably due to the presence of chemical additives, dyes and preservatives.
5. Mental health impacts
Recent research suggests a link between the exaggerated consumption of these foods and symptoms of depression, anxiety and mood changes, due to the low nutritional value and the imbalance of the intestinal microbiota.
6. Liver problems and kidneys
The excessive additives of fructose and artificial can overload the liver and the kidneys, promoting the development of diseases such as liver steatosis (fatty liver) and renal failure.
