The tooth of lion’s tooth (Taraxacum officinal) is a medicinal plant whose leaves, flowers and roots are used in the form of tea, capsules or tincture. It is traditionally used in herbal medicine for its digestive and diuretic properties.

Dr. Nutrude Dr. Isolda Prado, director of Abran (Brasilian Association of Nutrology), listed the main benefits of Leo’s tea tea:

How to take lion’s tea?

This tea can be done with dry leaves or roots:

• leaves: 1 teaspoon in 200 ml of boiling water. Leave the infusion for 10 minutes.

• roots: boil for 5-10 minutes before trying.

Take 1 to 3 cups per day, preferably far from the main meals.

“Leo’s tea is contraindicated for people with allergy to the family plants of Asteraceae (such as Margherite, Chamomile). Another point, are patients with biliary obstruction or bile calculations, in this case, should avoid consumption without medical advice,” says the expert.

Tea can also interact with diuretics, lithium, anticoagulants and antidiabetic. And the ingestion of this drink is not recommended without guidance, for pregnant and infant women.
