The new technology, available in Congonhas (SP) and Santos Dumont (RJ), does not require the presentation of identity documents; see how it is used
Facial recognition boarding was implemented on August 9 at Congonhas, a St. Pauland Santos Dumont, a Rio de Janeiro. The project is the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Infrastructurea infraero and the serproa technology developer.
The expectation is that the service will reduce boarding times, as it does not require the presentation of identity documents. All passengers over the age of 18 who have previously registered in the biometric system of their CNH or Voter’s title can use the function.
THE Objective stated that the facial recognition boarding procedure must be done through his app. After checking in, click on “Agilizar Embarque”, accept the general data protection law and then perform the biometric data acquisition. The recommendation is that the passenger is in a lighted environment with a neutral background, as well as not wearing a hat or sunglasses. After approval of the photo, the passenger has access to the boarding pass which must be presented to access the departure lounge and then to the aircraft.
Latam and Azul, on the other hand, renounce the use of applications. Passengers must go to the kiosks of their respective airlines at the airports to register and acquire their biometric data. Other totems will perform facial recognition at the entrance to the departure lounges and, subsequently, before entering the aircraft.
By flying with one of the three airlines, travelers will continue to be able to opt for traditional check-in procedures.
