The American magazine Newsweek published its annual ranking of the best hospitals in the world in 2026 and Brazil was present with 22 institutions: seven public and 15 private. The salient points include the UniCamp Clinics hospital in Campinas and the São Paulo hospital in UNIFep and private hospitals such as Albert Einstein Israelita and the Syrian-Lebanian hospital.

The survey is the result of a partnership between the magazine and the research society on global statistical data and evaluates hospitals in 12 medical specialties such as cardiology, oncology, pediatrics, neurosurgery, urology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, polyneumology and orthopedics.

The ranking took into consideration the 300 best hospitals in cardiology and oncology to the 125 best in neurosurgery and urology.

The methodology combines recommendations by health professionals, accreditation data and certifications and research results on the implementation reported by the statistical patient (outcome of patience).

The Prom are indicators that evaluate the results perceived by the patients themselves, such as the improvement of symptoms, the quality of life and the satisfaction for the treatment, allowing to measure the effective effectiveness of medical care from the point of view of those who receive care.

Global research was conducted online between May and July 2025, guaranteeing a large and decreasing evaluation of the hospital services.
