Another edition of “Vem Passarinhar Sampa” will take place on October 18, a birdwatching event organized by the NGO SAVE Brasil, in collaboration with the Semeia Institute.

The free monthly activity aims to encourage children’s participation in the city’s green areas, with the guidance of subject matter experts.

The project has the support of the Wildlife Division (DFS), the Green and Environment Secretariat (SVMA) and involves the use of borrowed binoculars, the assistance of biologists to identify species and the recording of observations on the eBird platform, which contributes to citizen science and generates data used by researchers to monitor birds.




Bird watching

“Vem Passarinhar Sampa” was created in 2016 and promotes environmental education, community engagement and awareness of the importance of conserving birds and their habitats, encouraging the connection between the population and the city’s green spaces.

One of this year’s new features is Papo de Passarinho, a conversation club after walks, where experts discuss topics related to wildlife conservation. The event is followed by a collective coffee to exchange experiences.

The October 18th edition will take place in the Cabeceiras do Aricanduva Municipal Natural Park, in the eastern area of ​​São Paulo. To participate you must register using the form on Instagram. SAVE Brazil.

The next meetings will be held on November 29th (Parque Municipal Linear Consciência Negra, in the East Zone) and December 13th (Ibirapuera, in the South Zone).
