The tech brand proposes to integrate more safety and convenience into a smart home

Review: with Positivo’s Smart Lock you don’t have to worry about the keys

Continuing with the Positivo Casa Inteligente product line, this year the company launched a kit consisting of an intelligent lock, opening sensor and Internet connection hub.

THE Casa.com editorial staff was able to evaluate the kit and the new digital keypad which is integrated into the lock, allowing opening with a numeric password.

A lock for any door

-

Unlike most of the devices in the category, Positivo offers a lock model that adapts to the user’s door, without the need to permanently compromise its structure. In addition, the product promises easy installation.

For this, the kit is accompanied by a series of adapters for a wide variety of locks and doors.

-

For those who have never had anything to do with this and are afraid of being locked up inside or outside the house, calm down! Positivo has created a very didactic manual, as well as a video tutorial to explain the installation step by step.

Indeed, it is a process that does not require any technical knowledge, but it does take some time to make sure that everything is well calibrated: it is good to leave some time of the day dedicated to this task.

-

The peripheral devices to the lock, such as the opening sensor and the keypad, only need to be properly fixed.

Mobile control and security

-

All these devices are synchronized and controlled by the Positivo Casa Inteligente app. The app features tutorials that make life easier and make it super friendly.

Once you enter the application environment, it becomes clearer to understand the various possibilities of connecting equipment, not only to each other, but also to devices from other brands, such as Amazon’s Alexas.

-

With everything installed and connected, you can operate the lock via the app, the keypad and of course the keys! If you have a voice assistant, you can also open and close it with voice commands. It is also possible to program routines. For example, setting the door to lock automatically a few seconds after closing.

No more crises due to the key

-

With so many ways to use it, say goodbye to that desperation of forgetting your keys in the office or having to wait at home when you have a visitor to open the door or wondering if you forgot to lock it. You can control all this from your mobile.

One feature that could improve for future generations of the Positivo’s smart lock is the motor noise, which is not very discreet. If you want to leave or enter the house unnoticed, it’s best to use the good old key.

-

Apart from that, one point that could improve is the quality of the connection of the keypad to the lock. The two must be very close, otherwise the communication between them can be intermittent.

In general, Positivo offers a beautiful and practical smart lock with a wide variety of connections, with the differential to fit most doors in Brazilian homes. It is definitely a positive sum for those who want to have a smarter home or for those who want to start venturing into this world of smart homes!
