There is nothing better than learning how to do a practical recipe and delicious with what’s left at home. In this article we will teach you how to make rolled french toast with ingredients that are making the soup in the fridge. Take note!
How to make bread churros
The ingredients you will need to make churros are:
-
Slices Of Bread (as many as you want)
-
1 egg
-
50 ml of milk
-
1 tablespoon of butter
-
Sugar and cinnamon powder to taste
-
Filling of your choice (Sweet Milk, Guava, Brigadeiro, Hazelnut Cream, etc.)
the first step is remove the crust from the bread; Cut the sides with a knife and set aside. It is worth mentioning that we will not use them in this recipe, but even so the bread crusts can be reused!

The second step is knead the peeled slices of bread. Then pass a rolling pin or, if you don’t have a rolling pin, use a cylindrical object such as a glass or bottle to knead. If you use a glass object, be careful to avoid accidents.
The goal is to make the bun very thin and soft.

The third step is spread the filling on one side of the slices of bread, right in the center to prevent it from dripping too much. Therefore, roll them up with the filling insidelike a pancake.

The fourth step is prepare the mixture for breading the bread. In a bowl, mix the egg and milk and set aside. The idea is to mix and not beat. Remember that if you beat too much you will end up making an omelette and that’s not what we want.

The fifth step is make a farofinha with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Mix equal parts of these ingredients in a shallow container such as a baking sheet or plate and set aside.

In the sixth step we go Dip the bread churros in the egg and milk mixture and then fry! Be careful not to get the bread too wet. While frying, turn it a little at a time so that it browns evenly.

the last step is Dip the churros in the sugar and cinnamon farofinha and serve.

Understand the difference between churros and french toast
Technically, there are no documents proving the origin of the churros, nor of the french toast. However, some research indicates that these recipes arrived in our country through Spanish immigrants and Portuguese invaders, but only arrived become popular around here since the 1970s.
What leaves no doubt is that, nowadays, both churros and french toast are part of our cuisine and culture, both seasonal and street food. Moreover, the main similarity between them is that both are recipes that go through the frying process.
However, the main difference between these sweets lies in their base. Although they both have wheat flour and fat as their main ingredients, French toast is made with the reuse of bread (a previously cooked pasta), while Churros are made with raw pasta, which it cooks during frying..
Usually the churros it is found on sale in stalls, mainly because it is easy to prepare, handle and dispose of, while its ingredients are also remarkably accessible. However, it is common to find dessert on restaurant and buffet menus.
already on french toast it is intended as a typical recipe for the end of the year, especially Christmas. According to historians, this tradition arises from the need to reuse the bread of the next day which, for Catholics, symbolizes the flesh of Christ and therefore could not be despised.
If you love churros as much as we do, we also recommend stuffing the recipe for dadinho-shaped churros, oreo flavored churros or coxinha churros.
