I was an atheist. As a child I used to go to a terreiro, but my first time as an adult is a good story to tell. My father was not well at all and I took him to the terreiro, because he couldn’t go out alone. I was dressed all in black because I didn’t believe in any of that spirituality. When we arrived and the work began, I was quiet, sitting, showing no reaction. Until, at the first beat of the abaque, I shivered all over and felt my heart speed up.
I couldn’t explain what I was feeling, but I remember it was the first time I noticed my mind calming down. I was calm, until I felt my body start tingling, the world spinning, even sitting. My chest felt like it was going to explode, I thought I was going to die. That’s when I started crying and ended up on the tour. They were people talking fiercely, asking me to let spirituality come.
“But let him come?” – that’s what I said. They said then that I had mediumship, that I had to take care. And in my head, my request was: “For the sake of something that exists, take me to the hospital.” And, once again, I heard: “you are a medium”.
I know they put something on my neck that felt like a burden, but at the same time it was a relief. At that moment a woman, with a cigarette in her mouth, said to me: “You have to work on it.” And I looked deep into that woman’s eyes and said, “I don’t believe it.” And she replied: “You don’t have to believe it, you feel it!”. And that’s where I started. As soon as I recovered and got out of there, I went home with my father, swearing that I would never come back. However, I didn’t know it was going to be the start of a big cycle in my life.
Bath of reconnection with spirituality
You will need:
1 liter of boiled water
1 sprig of rosemary
1 bunch of mint
1 leaf of the sword of St. George
1 handful of good quality tobacco.
How to prepare
Cut all the ingredients, put them in the boiled water, mixing. Once it is hot, take this preparation and rub the herbs on your body, from top to bottom, to increase energy. And then with the water from this bath, pour from the neck to the feet. The remaining herbs can normally be thrown into a potted plant.
