Reiki can help you live the five fundamental principles better, as they talk about how to deal with our attitudes and thoughts in everyday life in a more balanced way.

1) Just for today I don’t worry

Worries are full of fears and block hope. If you can free yourself from at least some of your daily worries, you will find that you will gradually become calmer and more relaxed. In the long run, the worries can generate anxiety, headaches and back pain, chronic stress, digestive problems, among others.

Try to live the present more intensely and take each step with love, good thoughts and positive attitudes. Worry less about what’s past and what’s to come, live in the present moment. Getting rid of some worries is a big step towards a better and more positive life.

2) Just for today I don’t get bored

This, for many, is the most difficult of the five principles, as it leads us to the process of liberating the feeling of anger. Irritation and anger disharmonize and create physical illnesses. It would be very helpful if we learned to transform these energies in constructive ways, by managing anger and negotiating sensible solutions to our conflicts.

A good help we can do for ourselves is to reject the feelings and energies of anger, exchanging them for dialogue and negotiation, doing it one day at a time.

3) Only for today I will be kind to my neighbor and to all living beings

This principle is learning to honor all of our relationships as they arise in our lives. Showing love and respect for all beings, respecting differences, means loving and respecting ourselves. We are all part of the same energy, totally.

Try to live in harmony with each other, without judging your way of life. Respect your individual condition, also respect nature and living beings. The feeling of lightness, fluidity and well-being will invade your life!

4) Just for today I will work honestly

This principle holds that you earn an honest life without harming anyone. In this way, you will have a more harmonious life and you will feel good with everyone around you.

Just being aware at the end of the day that you’ve done your best job gives you more self-respect and self-respect. And having the clarity to carry out one’s duties honestly can bring peace, harmony and a clear conscience, greatly improving the quality of life.

5) Just for today I give thanks for my many blessings

This principle is about mental and spiritual growth, as it helps us to accept the obstacles that life places on us. Being grateful for everything that happens in our life attracts the energy of abundance, because we transform the complaint into recognition. So, adopt a much more positive and grateful attitude in the face of daily life and difficulties.

We can learn to give thanks every day for everything, feeling worthy of all the gifts we have won.

The principles of Reiki, or GO KAI, as it is called in Japanese, were recited by the Japanese Buddhist monk who rediscovered and spread Reiki, Mikao Usui, at the beginning of his work.

He believed this positively helped the health of the mind and body. Usui also thought that a positive mental attitude was a key factor in self-healing and that the ability to let go of worries was the first step in the energetic cleansing of the body and mind.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the monk observed that many people who were cured of their illnesses through Reiki applications continually returned with new illnesses. Usui then realized that body healing was not effective if people could not reflect on the life they led and the cause of the disease.

It was from this awareness that he created the Five Principles of Reiki, so that people could understand their true healing, which should not only be physical, but a matter that also involved spiritual awareness and evolution.
