It’s common to think that more water-resistant cosmetics are the best options for contact lens wearers, right? However, the ophthalmologist makes it clear that this is not the case. “We always indicate washable makeup because it is easier to remove. This is important in order not to pile up on the goal, “he indicates.

The right way to remove makeup

And when it’s time to use the makeup remover, the care continues, see? According to the expert, the ideal is to remove the lens first and, only after, to start the makeup removal phase. This way you prevent other products or even water from coming into contact with the lenses.

The lens got dirty, now what?

Finally, Claudia warns that, before putting away the contact lenses, it is essential to check if there are any residues on them. If there is, cleaning must be performed with the multipurpose solution, the only one recommended for cleaning and storage. “Remove the lenses, put them in the palm of your hand, drip 5 drops of the solution and do the friction motion and rinse for 15 seconds. Then check if there is any residue left and save it,” he teaches.
