Played by Jun Murakami, son of chef Tsuyoshi, the house is expected to open on October 3, in Jardins
Anyone who has been to his father’s restaurants, Tsuyoshi, has an idea of what he will find in his son’s new business, Jun Murakami. Do you remember that fresh, soft and delicate mochi, filled with chocolate ganache, which closes the chef’s menus? Well now they will be sold as jewelry in the mochimù, which is scheduled to open on 3 October. The recipe is from the matriarch Suzana, who makes the gnocchi by hand, with a dough that uses only Japanese glutinous rice (ie without flour).

Almost at the corner of Dr. Melo Alves with Alameda Lorena, the pastry shop, which is also a tea shop, actually looks like a jewelry store – look at the window displaying the mochis: it looks like a jewelry display; in front of her, the customer chooses the mochi of the time and the attendant, with the care of one who handles a diamond ring, opens the drawer and takes out the rice ball.
You can buy the unit (R $ 10 to R $ 12), “the perfect size to eat in two bites”, or the boxes with six or 12 assorted mochi, to take away. The fillings vary between the classics, such as azuki beans and the shiro an (white bean jam), “mandatory”, like matcha is that of milk chocolate ganacheand authors, such as decopone (Japanese citrus) with white chocolate and Japanese whiskey. That is to say, all the chocolates used in the house are produced by the bean to bar chocolatier Louise Abraham with input from the Amazon – the white chocolate bar with matcha is also on sale in the shop.
Mochi tasting
Those who want a more complete experience can occupy one of the eight seats at the long wooden table and request one of them Mochi and tea tastings – all Japanese and prepared with Panna water, “which is lighter”. The Motchimu set combines three teas and three mochi (R $ 120): I hope to find genmaicha, a delicate green tea with toasted rice.
The Kyoto Matcha (R $ 150) includes a mochi and a chocolate (or other seasonal treat) and the Kyoto matcha, which is smooth, with a very light bitterness and a scent of grass, “good matcha smells like grass,” guides Suzana. The Motchimu Tea Omakase (R $ 300) varies based on the availability of the day, but must have five to six phases. “The idea is to remember a sushi tasting,” Jun says.
