Why is it important to train the calf?

The calf is considered the heart of the legs, as blood pumping in the lower limbs is carried out in this region. Therefore, it is vital to keep it strengthened to enjoy the circulation benefits.

According to the specialist, leaving the calf muscles still can cause some problems, including the appearance of varicose veins and venous thrombosis.

“Situations where this muscle is stationary for a long time can cause fluid retention in the legs, leading to swollen, heavy and tired legs and increasing the susceptibility to developing varicose veins and venous thrombosis,” he warns.
