Two lots will be collected; Anvisa informs that the collection procedure was started voluntarily by the company

Garoto will collect two batches of branded chocolates after the risk of contain small fragments of glass in the products. The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) reported on Tuesday 18 that the procedure was initiated voluntarily by the company.
The situation arose after finding a malfunction in one of the factory’s production equipment. Consequently, there is a risk of containing small fragments of glass in the products, which can cause injury to the mouth or mucous membranes.
One of the lots is that of 80 g milk chocolate bar with cashews. the other is of milk chocolate with cashews and raisins, even 80 grams.
According to the documentation presented by the company to Anvisa in the voluntary recall notice, most of the products of the indicated batches have not been marketed, however some products have been distributed in Vila Velha (ES) and by city of Santa Catarina.
“According to company records, there is the possibility of contamination only in the two batches mentioned, without any limitation to the use of other Garoto products”, announced Anvisa in Resolution-RE no. 3.420 of October 17.

The products of the indicated lots must not be consumed. The packaging must be kept and the customer must contact the Garoto Customer Service by telephone 0800 055 95 50from Monday to Friday, from 8.00 to 18.00, except holidays, or by e-mail sacgaroto@garoto.com.br for free exchange or refund.
