11 weeks of pregnancy: development of the baby

At 11 weeks of pregnancy, your baby has reached a size of approximately 45mm. Imagine a whole die – it’s more or less there. Between this week and the 14th, you will be able to see your baby, inside the belly. This is because it is during this period that midwives recommend doing a morphological ultrasound in the first trimester. The examination, in addition to allowing the long-awaited peek, detects malformations and chromosomal alterations. Oh, and you’ll most likely be able to feel the racing heartbeat. What an emotion!
