First race test: when it’s time to face the challenge

Speak my loves, how are you? Everything is great here! Guys, I want to share something new. And, for a change, there is some exercise in between.

I’ll tell you about the beginning of this trajectory, which began in 2008 when I was about to graduate in sports science and I wanted to be thin to look good in my graduation gown. But this skinny guy was crazy at all costs, wasn’t he? What does immaturity do to us. But that plan included diet, exercise, and a cosmetic procedure.

The diet was not new as I had done it numerous times before and as time was short, there were many restrictions. The cosmetic procedure was the simplest part, I didn’t have to make any effort, did I ?! And the training? It was very difficult to join. I paid, but I didn’t go, anyway… you already know this story.

So I decided to run with my dog, he was small, it wouldn’t have been difficult to keep up with him. I arrived in the late afternoon, got ready, put him on a leash and ran no less than 2 km, it was little but it felt like 20 km. At first I walked and then I went back to running, so I did until I ran the entire route.

At that time the race didn’t have all that visibility, the only one I remember was São Silvestre, but over the years it has grown and people have started to unite. And me too. But my progress has been small, I haven’t trained to run, I train to lose weight.

The weight loss race is extremely effective because we can work in an undulatory way, interrupting the intensity, increasing the energy expenditure in a single session. The effect of high intensity interval exercise is long lasting, having the power to mobilize substrates hours after its completion.

The first race test

What I didn’t imagine was that I would become addicted to running, it works like a safety valve. It improves conditioning, my mood, anxiety, increases my creativity, I come back refreshed after running and contributes to the maintenance of my weight loss.

And with all this history of running for many years, recreational running, with no intention of becoming a near-pro, God forbid, I wish. I have decided to prepare for a new challenge.

I decided to sign up for a competition here in Rio de Janeiro: “Corrida das Poderosas”. Exclusive for women, a few kilometers and a wonderful landscape.

I will take better care of food without detours. In training, do not procrastinate, do the strengthening so as not to hurt yourself and rest in the necessary days.

I’m sure it will be great and it will be the first of many races!

And you, have you ever imagined yourself running? Take a test and pass yourself?
